Welcome to DeSoto Intermediate! Serving all ADM students in grades 5-6, DeSoto Intermediate offers a supportive and engaging learning environment. With a focus on small class sizes, our departmentalized structure allows teachers to specialize in either literacy or STEM instruction. Students are grouped into red and black teams, rotating among core content teachers and connecting with peers during music, band, Tiger Time, lunch, and recess. Our staff includes professionals in gifted and talented education, special education, counseling, and the arts, ensuring a well-rounded experience for every learner.

Our teachers are lifelong learners who engage in ongoing professional development to provide high-quality instruction. We believe in strong partnerships between school and home, and we actively encourage family involvement through programs like Watch DOGS, school concerts, and a variety of volunteer opportunities. DeSoto Intermediate is a welcoming and dynamic community where students can thrive socially and academically. I look forward sharing more with you about DeSoto Intermediate in the future and partnering with you in your child’s education at ADM!

Sincerely,

Amy Hemphill
