At Meadow View each student is a member of a Tiger Team. Each Tiger Team is made up of 10-12 students of mixed grade levels who get together monthly with a teacher. In March our Tiger Team focus was: Kindness, Collaboration, and Problem Solving.
Students learned how to kindly ask for a break from someone, how to respond appropriately when someone is bothering them, and how to match their reaction to the size of a problem. They also practiced sorting problems into ones they can solve themselves and ones that require adult support.
At the end of the lesson each child was able to share what they learned. Then the students were challenged to try out one of the strategies this week when they need to take a break or face a problem.
