ADM Middle School is proud to announce that three of their students have been recognized in the Scholastic Art & Writing Competition!
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is a nation-wide, prestigious recognition program for creative teenagers. Each year, students in grades 7-12 are invited to submit original works in a wide array of categories – from painting and mixed media to short stories and poetry. Submissions are first judged on a regional level, where standout entries can receive Honorable Mentions, Silver Keys, or Gold Keys. Gold Key winners then advance to a national competition.
When entering, students must follow specific guidelines for their chosen category. They are judged on three main criteria: originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. By participating in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, students gain valuable experience in developing their work for a broader audience. These recognitions validate their creative efforts and encourage them to continue exploring their artistic and literary talents.
Ashleigh Blum received a Silver Key for her Mixed Media artwork, “Decaying Garden.”
Clara Uthe received an Honorable Mention in the Short Story category for her piece, “Wind’s Repent.”
Claire Priestley also earned an Honorable Mention for her short story, “Thanksgiving This Year.”
Congratulations to these talented students on their achievements!
