Finnegan Ryan, an 8th grade student, has been accepted into the highly competitive Blank Summer Institute (BSI) at the Belin-Blank Center at the University of Iowa. Finnegan was selected for the Engineering course, which saw a record number of applicants this year, making his acceptance an extraordinary achievement.

BSI is an invitation-only, one-week residential program designed for high-achieving students entering grades 8 and 9. Participants engage in rigorous, hands-on learning experiences in their chosen fields while working alongside university faculty and other gifted students from Iowa and surrounding states.

Finnegan’s acceptance into the Engineering course reflects his academic excellence, creativity, and passion for STEM. This experience will challenge and inspire him while preparing him for future academic and career opportunities in engineering and beyond.
