Lorissa is a preschool teacher at Adel Elementary School and is starting her 13th year in education. Before coming to ADM, Lorissa taught kindergarten in Anita, IA and then preschool in Milo, IA. She was born and raised in Forest City, Iowa and she attended UNI for college, double majoring in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education.
Lorissa wanted to become a teacher because she wanted to make a difference in the lives of students, just like her former teachers did for her. She chose ADM because she heard stories about how passionate and supportive the staff was. When asked what she enjoys most about being a preschool teacher, Lorissa stated she enjoys, “getting to know the students, seeing their progress, and building strong relationships.” She stays at ADM because of her colleagues, students, and the families.
