Maysen Wenndt, 5th grader at DeSoto Intermediate, was 1 of 25 students chosen as a winner for a national contest called America250. America250 is a national competition trying to engage America’s youth in commemorating the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding by asking students to submit creative content that answers the question, “What does America mean to you?”. Maysen participated in this project during GATE.
As a winner, Maysen earned a 3-day/2-night trip for two. Possible destinations include Yellowstone National Park, Statue of Liberty, Golden Gate Bridge, National Museum of American History, and more. Maysen will get to travel in July or August of this year.
