Students at Meadow View Elementary have been engaged in lessons focused on empathy with our counselor, Mrs. Sanders. We have been talking about what it means to “walk a mile in another person’s shoes”. Our big takeaway is to try and remember what others might think and what others might feel in order to walk a mile in their shoes. The two components of showing empathy include: thinking of how others feel and what they might be thinking.

Lastly, all students choose a shoe that they feel best represents them, and then they decorate the shoe to show a little bit about themselves. We will display these as a reminder to think of each other and show empathy!
