This past week, incoming kindergarten students had the opportunity to come into Adel Elementary for two 1 ½ hour sessions and do a variety of activities. This screening time helped the Early Childhood team to:
- Observe the student in a classroom environment
- Observe the student’s interactions with adults and peers
- Assess readiness skills, such as:
- letter/sound knowledge
- Fine motor
- Listening
- Oral language, etc.
We also want to say a big thank you to the Adel Lions Club for supporting vision screening during this time. This is such a great service for our families!
Adel Elementary staff had so much fun seeing new faces and are so excited to welcome all our students next fall!
